Safety Features

When more information becomes available, this article will be updated to reflect the latest safety insights.
In the meantime, if you’re curious about crash-test ratings and overall safety performance, you can check the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites for comprehensive evaluations.
That said, we can anticipate several key safety features to be standard on the Macan EV. Automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection is likely to be included, helping to prevent accidents by automatically applying the brakes when a potential collision is detected.
Lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist will probably be standard as well, ensuring that you stay safely in your lane. Additionally, there may be an option for adaptive cruise control, which automatically adjusts your speed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you.
Engine Options and Performance
The Macan EV offers a variety of power options. The base model features a rear-mounted electric motor that delivers 335 horsepower, boosting to 355 horsepower with its overboost function. The 4, 4S, and Turbo models have all-wheel drive with an electric motor on each axle, providing even more power: the Macan 4 hits 402 horsepower, the 4S offers 509 horsepower, and the Turbo cranks it up to 630 horsepower.
The top speeds range from 136 mph for the 4 to 161 mph for the Turbo. All models come with air suspension and adaptive dampers, and the 4S and Turbo can include a torque vectoring system to enhance handling on twisty roads.
CarandDriver’s team had the chance to drive the Macan EV in different configurations, and the performance impressed them. While the base and 4 models are not the quickest, the 4S and Turbo deliver the rapid acceleration that electric vehicles are known for.
According to them, The handling is engaging, thanks to the low center of gravity from the battery pack, which provides stability during turns. Although the steering is quick, it doesn’t quite meet Porsche’s usual high standards. The optional rear-wheel steering helps make tight turns easier at low speeds and adds stability at higher speeds.

It features an innovative system that splits the battery into two 400-volt units when connected to a 400-volt charger, achieving charging speeds of up to 135 kW.
