The New 2025 Toyota bZ3X will be offered in two trim models: XLE, and Limited. The bZ3X is Toyota’s first fully electric vehicle, and that’s really exciting news! While Toyota wasn’t the first to create a hybrid car, their Prius became hugely popular and made hybrid cars fashionable. It wasn’t just car enthusiasts who noticed it; the Prius became a symbol for eco-friendly people who wanted to make a statement about caring for the environment.

Given Toyota’s success with hybrids, we might think that moving to battery electric vehicles (BEVs) would be an easy and natural next step for them. They already have a lot of experience with hybrid batteries, and they are known for their dedication to making reliable cars. So, combining their battery knowledge with their focus on reliability should make the transition to electric vehicles smooth and successful.

2025 Toyota bZ3X Design, Specs

The bZ3X is a compact SUV that is similar in size to the Toyota CH-R SUV. It was developed together with Toyota’s Chinese partner, Toyota GAC. Alongside the bZ3X, Toyota also introduced the bZ3C in Beijing. The bZ3C is a liftback version with a similar style and size, aimed at younger buyers who prefer a sportier look.

Toyota hasn’t shared many technical details about these new electric vehicles yet. However, the naming of their ‘Beyond Zero’ EV family hints that the bZ3X and bZ3C will likely use the same e-TNGA platform as the Toyota bZ3 sedan, which is currently only available in China.

The bZ3 sedan is designed to compete with the Tesla Model 3. It was developed in partnership with BYD, a well-known Chinese electric vehicle and battery manufacturer. We expect the new 2025 Toyota bZ3X and bZ3C to share similar technology and features as the bZ3 sedan.

Interior, Tech, and Cargo

We don’t have the exact details for the 2025 bZ3X’s interior yet, but we can make an educated guess based on what we know from the 2024 model. The interior of the 2024 bZ3X is quite different from what you might expect from Toyota. It features a fresh, modern design with a funky new center console and a unique dashboard covered in a soft, tactile cloth.

When you take a closer look, you’ll find some familiar Toyota elements. The 12.3-inch touchscreen runs on the same system as the one in the Corolla Cross, which means it includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, the software can feel a bit clunky. You’ll also notice familiar materials on the doors and steering wheel. Around the cup holders, there’s a ring of rough plastic, similar to what you’d find in a HiLux, which doesn’t feel very high-end.

The good news is Despite these quirks, the bZ3X excels in practicality. It has two deep cup holders, decent storage space under the sliding center armrest, and roomy door bins that can hold both 1.5-liter and 500 bottles. We don’t expect major changes for the 2025 model, so it should offer the same practical features and unique design.

2025 Toyota bZ3X Power Options

In terms of Power! We don’t know what will Toyota offer for the 2025 model, but the 2024 bZ3X offers good acceleration, with the front-drive model (150kW/260Nm) going from 0-100km/h in 7.5 seconds and the all-wheel-drive model (160kW/337Nm) in 6.9 seconds.

The AWD version uses dual 80kW motors to mimic Subaru’s symmetrical setup, unlike many rivals that opt for rear-biased systems. Toyota has carefully calibrated the accelerator and brake pedals for smooth and natural operation. Although it lacks a full one-pedal driving mode, the maximum regen setting allows for a gentle creep at 7-10km/h, avoiding abrupt stops.

In the 2024 Model, The bZ3X offers Normal and Eco drive modes, with Eco mode smartly adjusting features like air conditioning to cool only occupied seats, saving energy. Its battery has a 71.4kWh gross capacity but a usable capacity of 64kWh, a bigger gap than rivals like the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Toyota engineered this to ensure greater safety and limit battery wear.

In terms of efficiency, the 2024 bZ3X’s consumption is 16.9kWh/100km for the front-wheel-drive and 18.1kWh/100km for the all-wheel-drive, giving respective driving ranges of 436km and 411km according to European WLTP tests.
